Can I Use MediSave For Wisdom Tooth Extraction?
MediSave can be used to claim for wisdom tooth extraction if it is surgically removed. If you are a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident, you will be able to claim the expenses of surgically removing wisdom teeth from your CPF MediSave Account.
Our dentists will examine your teeth and let you know if the wisdom tooth can be removed via a routine extraction or surgery. You cannot use MediSave for a routine extraction. Only wisdom teeth that are surgically removed are claimable via the CPF MediSave account. Non-surgical dental treatments such as extractions, crowning, dentures, or braces are not MediSave-claimable.

MediSave Wisdom Tooth Claim Limit
The amount of MediSave that can be claimed for wisdom tooth extraction depends on the complexity of the procedure.
- Day surgery: Up to $300 per day for daily charges, including investigations, medicines and doctor’s attendance fees.
- Operation: A fixed limit for operations ranges from $250 to $7,550 depending on the type of operations performed.
For example, if the cost of your wisdom tooth surgery is $1,500, you can claim up to $1,250 under MediSave. The maximum amount of MediSave that can be withdrawn will be subjected to the Medisave claim limit for each bill. The final amount deducted from your MediSave account is dependent on CPF’s final approval.

How to Claim From Medisave for Surgical Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Book a consultation
After the consultation, your dentist will inform you whether you require surgical removal for your wisdom teeth. If you do require one, you can choose whether or not to use your MediSave account.
MediSave claim form
If you decide to use your MediSave account, please inform your dentist. They will provide you with a MediSave claim form which needs to be filled out by the MediSave Account holder. If you do not have a MediSave account or do not have sufficient funds (not more than $2,000) in your MediSave account, your immediate family members (your spouse, parents, or child) can use their MediSave to help you with the bill payment.
Verification & Processing
Once you indicate that you require a MediSave claim for surgical wisdom tooth extraction, your dentist’s staff will verify your MediSave balance using the SingPass app. Once verification has been completed, they will proceed with the claim submission.
Bill Settlement
You will receive the MediSave claim statement (owner of the Medisave Account) as soon as the deduction has been processed. For example, if the total fee is S$1,500 and the amount you can claim from Medisave is $1,250, this amount will be deducted from the MediSave account and a statement will be sent to you. The balance amount you have to pay upfront is $250 ($1,500 – $1,250).
