Can I use MediSave for wisdom tooth extraction?
MediSave can be claimed for Wisdom tooth extraction if surgically removed. If you are a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident, you will be able to claim surgical wisdom tooth extraction expenses from your CPF MediSave Account.
Our dentists examine your teeth and will let you know if the wisdom tooth can be removed via a routine extraction or surgery. You cannot use Medisave for a routine extraction and only If surgically removed it is claimable via the CPF MediSave account. Non-surgical dental treatments such as extractions, crowning, dentures or braces are not MediSave-claimable.
You can claim different amounts depending on the complexity and type of dental treatments undergone. According to the Central Provident Fund Board (CPF), there is a limit set for surgical wisdom tooth extraction. The exact amount would depend on the type and complexity of the procedure.
1) Day surgery Up to a maximum of $300 per day for daily charges, including investigations, medicines and doctor's attendance fees.
2) Operation A fixed limit for operations ranges from $250 to $7,550 depending on the type of operations performed.

On average, the estimated wisdom tooth surgery cost at Smilepoint Dental is S$ 1300 - 1500 (without GST) per visit. This estimated fee is subject to change based on your unique clinical condition. Please check with our clinician for an exact fee.
On average $1250 can be claimed under Medisave. The maximum amount of MediSave that can be withdrawn will be subjected to the Medisave claim limit for each bill. The final amount deducted from your MediSave account is dependent on CPF’s final approval.
How Do I Claim From Medisave for surgical Wisdom Tooth Extraction?
After the consultation, our dentist will inform you whether you require surgical removal for your wisdom teeth. If you do require one, you can choose whether or not to utilise your MediSave account.
Step 02: Medisave claim form
If you decide to use the Medisave account, please inform us. We will provide you with a Medisave claim form which needs to be filled out by the Medisave Account holder. If you do not have a Medisave account or do not have sufficient funds (not more than $2,000) in your MediSave account your immediate family members (your spouse, parents, or child) can use their Medisave to help you with the bill payment.
Step 03: Verification & Processing
Once you indicate that you require a Medisave claim for surgical wisdom tooth extraction, our staff will verify Medisave balance using the SingPass app. Once verification has been completed, we will proceed with the claim submission.
Step 04: Bill Settlement
A Medisave Claims Statement will be sent to the owner of the Medisave account as soon as the deduction has been processed. For instance, if the total fee is S$1500 and the amount you can claim from Medisave is $1250, this amount will be deducted from the Medisave account and a statement will be sent to you. The balance amount you have to pay upfront is $250 ($1500 - $1250).
