Dr. Low Yi Han is a periodontist (gum specialist) in Singapore. He is skilled at treating gum problems like bleeding gums, receding gums, and shaky teeth. Studies have shown that there is a strong correlation between gum disease and general health. This is especially for patients with diabetes. Gum disease is preventable and treatable in the early stages. The deterioration in the gum condition takes place over a few years. So it is easy to miss the early warning signs, like persistent gum bleeding and swelling. Regular dental checkups help to pick up problems early. People with diabetes may require more frequent dental checkups and cleanings. For example, every 3 months, to keep gum disease in control. Dr Low Yi Han works part-time at Smilepoint Dental Centre. Please call 6475 1028 to book an appointment with him today.
Dr. Low Yi Han obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2005. After 3 years of general practice comprising hospital & community dentistry, he went on to pursue his post-graduate training in periodontology and graduated with a Master of Dental Surgery degree in 2011. In the same year, he obtained his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (United Kingdom). In 2013, he received a certificate of specialist registration with the Singapore Dental Council as a periodontist.
Dr Low provides a comprehensive range of non-surgical and surgical periodontal therapy as well as dental implant procedures with a special interest in regenerative periodontics.
Outside the clinical practice, he was involved in NUS undergraduate teaching and was an adjunct lecturer at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) for the oral health therapist programme.
